What is fitvibe vibration training?

Vibration training is an accelerated training method that is supported by decades of clinical applications and research. It is a revolutionary, low stress exercise and rehabilitation solution that helps to build muscle tone quickly.

Training on a vibration machine, such as the FitVibe is where different parts of the body are put in contact with a platform in various exercise positions ranging from squats, lunges and push-ups to abdominal crunches, tricep dips and bicep curls. A pose is held for up to 60 seconds at a time, activating multiple muscle groups simultaneously to stretch, tone and strengthen.

Studies confirm whole body vibration benefits

Greater gains in strength and flexibility

In an article published in the Journal of Sports Sciences, researcher Gershon Tenenbaum, Ph.D. and colleagues reported that when male athletes exercised three times weekly in the presence of vibratory stimulation, they experienced greater gains in strength and flexibility than those who performed similar exercises in the absence of vibration.



Reduce the risk of developing Osteoporosis

The results of a 2004 study published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research suggests that a training program that includes vibratory stimulus may reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis.



Postmenopausal women increase bone mineral density, strength and balance

Postmenopausal women who engaged in whole body vibration training three times a week for a period of six months experienced significant increases in bone mineral density of the hip, as well as improvements in strength and balance. Based on these findings, the researchers concluded that vibration training might be a feasible and effective way to reduce the risk of falls and bone fractures in older women.



Immediate improvement of circulation

The rapid contraction and relaxation of the muscles at 20 to 50 times per second basically works as a pump on the blood vessels and lymphatic vessels, increasing the speed of the blood flow through the body (Kerschan-Schindl et al. 2001); Lohman et al. 2007). Subjects often experience this as a tingling, prickling, warm sensation in the skin.



Better results than conventional training in explosive power

From research into the structural effects of vibration training it can be deducted that the increased strength resulting from WBV training can definitely be compared to the results that can be attained with conventional methods of training. But there are indications that better results may be achieved with WBV in the area of explosive power (Delecluse et al. 2003).
